Teach as an Intern at Green Dot
Adelante: Green Dot's Accelerated Teacher Credentialing Program
Earn a Single Subject Teaching Credential while working at Green Dot Public Schools in partnership with Loyola Marymount University in as little as one year!
What is Adelante?
Adelante is a partnership program between Green Dot and Loyola Marymount University helping new teachers get ahead by providing an opportunity to work as full time “intern” teachers while taking required university courses to earn a California preliminary single subject teaching credential.
Green Dot hires Adelante interns and provides comprehensive supports to ease the transition into teaching, ensuring adoption of successful teaching practices early on, and to help manage the demands of teaching full time while completing graduate level coursework.
The Adelante program is ideal for someone who is relentless, reflective, and collaborative. You should possess a strong desire to foster high levels of achievement with academically underserved students.
Upon completion of the one-year program, as an Adelante cohort member, you will:
Advance your career while you work full time as a teacher and earn your single-subject teaching credential in California
Enjoy a competitive starting salary of $49,000 with full benefits
Participate in coursework through LMU’s School of Education which is deeply committed to fostering life-long learning, academic excellence, service and social justice.
Access to ongoing job-embedded professional development and resources to improve individual teaching practice
Receive a 30% tuition deduction for LMU course work.
Individual coaching and mentoring with a highly qualified Green Dot mentor and curriculum specialist.
We locate our schools purposefully in communities that have been historically underserved. In doing so, we promote equity in resource and opportunity for all families in all communities.
Because we know the stakes are high, Green Dot Public Schools is committed to growing individual and collective impact through meaningful professional development; personal reflection and engagement in our coaching model to inform our disposition as a learning organization.
